Your Turn

Mobiles hanging in a space always draw me in to watch how light plays with movement.

Today I thought it would be fun to reverse roles.  I’m supplying the image, and I ask you dear readers to supply the words. What thoughts about transition come to mind for you as you reflect on this image?

No one piece reflects light the same. There are endless options in transition. There are endless reactions to transition.

Disarray, lack of organization, heterogeneous, democratic

Transitions. Life is full of them. From childhood to adulthood, raising of children, to seeing the gradual aging process in our parents. Dealing with our own health issues.
I’ve seen a lot of transitions in my realitvely short life. Some have been easy, others difficult not only physically, but spiritually and mentally. One constant has remained though, and that is knowing Jesus and his abounding love for me. Through all my transitions, that has been the steady constant that has kept me going, always moving forward. Some days slower than others, but still comforted by His love & grace.

If only all decisions were black and white, but alas, they are mostly shades of gray. Thankfully, our God can and does use everything to His glory!

In everyone’s life a little rain must fall, and you know it will soon be over.
Thankfully there are more sunny days than rainy ones.

Life is the interplay between light and darkness, sunshine and shadow, and hinges on our interpretation of what we see and experience. Just when we think we have something figured out and labeled, we might take another look to see that it has shifted and our perception has changed. What seems good or positive at first glance may not be for our highest good, and what seems evil or negative may be a gift in disguise. That is why it is good to give thanks in all things and not judge by appearances.

Transition is to me, a way of life any more. I struggle with not being able to control things but am getting better about just letting go and leaving it to God. I remember someone asking me when I was about 30 years old what I wanted out of life. I said to be content. My answer at 53 still would be be same along with good health and a stronger faith.
